Book Fair!
We will have a book fair in the media center February 8-12th. This is a great opportunity to purchase books for your home library, and even great gifts for friends and family!

3.NF.1 Understand a fraction 1/b as the quantity formed by 1 part when a whole is partitioned into b equal parts; understand a fraction a/b as the quantity formed by a parts of size 1/b.

What will we learn?
This standard refers to the sharing of a whole being partitioned. Fraction models in third grade include only area (parts of a whole) models (circles, rectangles, squares) and number lines.
We will start with unit fractions (fraction with numerator 1), which are formed by partitioning a whole into equal parts and reasoning about one part of a whole.

RL 3.5 - Analyze the structure of texts, including specific sentences, paragraphs, and larger portions of the text.
RL 3.9 - Analyze how two or more texts address similar themes or topics in order to build knowledge or to compare the approaches the authors take.
