Student Schedules
This thing called "enrichment"
Enrichment could also be called I & E (Intervention and Enrichment). As teachers, you have great latitude here. Meet with your team/community teachers and meet with your department and discuss options. I want our first priority to be reading. On this campus, everyone is a teacher of reading. Think about it---if students cannot read and understand what they are reading, they cannot read and figure out how to solve math problems. They cannot read their social studies or science texts nor can they then interpret charts, graphs, or maps very well. But do not fear, and do not worry---we have great resources to help you.
As we move through the year, you may want to develop a rotation schedule whereby you see all of your students by the end of the week. This will allow you some time for content specific intervention. For example, on Monday, you keep the students assigned to you for that period. On Tuesday, after attendance has been taken, students rotate one classroom to the right. On Wednesday after attendance, students rotate two rooms to the right. On Thursday after attendance, students rotate three classrooms to the right. On Friday, you have your students again for "Teacher's Choice."
Reading, reading, reading, is a priority! Please do not hesitate to visit with Mia Campos, our literacy coach for assistance and guidance for reading instruction.
Advisory is an allotted period of time for announcements, Olweus lessons and so forth. You may teach some character lessons during this time, or discuss current events.

Always remember to...
Along these same lines (no pun intended), we need you in your classroom ready to receive your students after lunch. We are doing our best to hold them in the cafeteria as long as we can to ensure that you get your entire lunch period. We have developed a quick and orderly dismissal system which should get them to you on time.
