Thank You!
I can't say it enough and quite frankly saying it everyday probably isn't enough. I appreciate everything that you all do to make CNP a great place to be. You all play a vital role in making our school a safe and fun learning environment. No ones role is bigger or smaller than anyone else's roll. Please continue to do what is best for our student's!
Using Data to Improve Instruction and Learning
I recently went to one of my IPLI meetings and they shared the anonymous survey results about my leadership that half of you took last spring. While most of the areas had high ratings with low standard deviation, there were a couple areas that I feel I need to address as a leader. It is always hard putting your downfalls as an educator out for everyone to see, but I want to get better for our school, for our students, and for you! I may be asking some of you to help me try new ideas, implement something in your classroom, or just give me honest feedback in the next couple of weeks. I feel it is just as important for me to grow as a leader, as it is for you all to grow as teachers. A couple areas that I'll be talking about and asking for ways to improve are below
- Collaboratively develops and implements a shared vision (where we want to be in 3-5 years) and mission (what we want to do). Score 3.73 out of 5 with a SD of 0.90
- Nurtures and sustains a culture of collaboration, trust, learning, and high expectations. Score 4.18 out of 5 with a SD of 1.08
- Creates a comprehensive, rigorous, and coherent curricular program. Score 3.44 out of 5 with a SD of 1.13
Chili Supper
Our annual Chili Supper/PTO Fall Festival will be held on October 12th! We will be talking about this during a morning meeting. I just wanted to put it on your radar and hope that most of you can make it to this great community building event!
Facebook and Twitter
One of the best ways for us to communicate with parents and the community is through social media. I love seeing the things that some of you tweet out and often retweet them. If you would like to know how to use twitter please let me know and I'll gladly show you. If you have something going on in your classroom and want to share it, but aren't comfortable with twitter (yet :) ) snap a picture and text it to me and I'll post it to our school page for you! The more parents can see and know what is going on the easier it is for us to communicate with them!
Subs for This Weeks Training
Just FYI K and 2nd grade I scheduled the subs before we switched days so you probably got an email stating that you had a sub on the wrong day. It's ok we have the subs so I'll just send them to the correct place. It was to much of a headache to change all of the subs and start over, so I took the easy way out. If you have questions about what day you are going or who your sub is come see me.
