Nurse Note
Be Prepared.... Think Ahead
Outside playtime is a very important part of the total elementary school program. Pendleton Elementary students have outside recess when the temperature is above 20 F (adjusted for wind chill), unless inclement weather, or a safety concern exists. Please make sure your child is dressed for the colder weather.
Developmental Preschool
Robotics Club
The final rounds of robotics club are all about planning, designing, building, evaluating, and testing your own robot. This last rotation of meetings includes two dates for each group. The first meeting is a planning, designing, and researching ideas for your build. Students will be given "build bags". Students will then build at home over the next week. The second meeting will be a show and tell style meeting where students explain their robot to the other students.

School Counselor's Corner
The most important job of the staff is to keep everyone safe every day. This is not a job that we can do alone; we also need students' help. So this week our project care focus was what students can do to help everyone be safe at Pendleton Elementary.
When we practice the principles of the Horseshoe Honor Code every day we help keep everyone safe. When we are respectful, it means that we are showing kindness towards each other. When we are being responsible, it means we are doing what we are supposed to be doing. When we are honest, it means that we are not being deceitful or lying to anyone about anything. These all play a part in keeping our school safe each day.
Another important way to keep our school safe is for students to speak up. Whenever a student sees another student that needs help or is in danger, we encourage them to SPEAK UP, REACH OUT, and BE A FRIEND. If they see someone being mistreated, somebody doing something dangerous that could hurt themselves or others, hear someone threatening another person's safety, or if they ever see anything that they think could be suspicious or dangerous on the bus, in school, outside the school, or even something another student may have or say they have, these are all important times where the safe thing to do would be to speak up and report it to an adult that they can trust and not pass this information along to other students.
You can help us keep your student safe by following up with this message at home. Please help your students know how important it is to speak up in order to keep our school safe!
Until next week .....
