Introduction
The Olympics, in ancient Greece, had a big influence on the Olympics today. Historically, the Olympics in ancient Greece, was the biggest celebration of the year. The Olympics then, however, was different than the Olympics today.Despite the differences, there are still many similarities.These are only the few that stands out.
Ancient Greece Olympics
Modern and Greeks sports are very similar. Today in modern America we have some of the same sports as the Greeks did. The Olympics were held in Olympia which was South-West of Greece. The people of Greece could only compete in the Olympics because they could speak the language. Women were not allowed to play in Olympics or watch. The men thought it was not appropriate for the woman to watch the Olympics.
Boxing
The Greek guys are boxing in the picture,the thing is that they always fought buck naked.They Fought buck naked because they were very confident about there bodies.
Training
When the Olympics would be approaching very soon the competitors would be trained by former champions.This is a picture of the competitors training for track and field.
Champions
All the champions of each game would win prizes. This is a champion winning all of his prizes.He would train former competitors when the next Olympics would be approaching.
Avoid Fighting
The Olympics back in ancient Greece they did the Olympics because it was to avoid all of the fighting in Greece.So the Olympics was the place were the men could show what they had in sports.
Gymos or Gyms
The men would be training buck naked and the gyms and the gyms the men would be fighting,exercising.The men would do that to get ready for the Olympics.
Sports
The whole Olympics back then had a total of ten sports in the whole Olympics games.Also the Olympics was a one day event so each sport took a good amount of time to do.
