Clara Love is Open for Visitors

Welcome back to schools, guests! As previously announced, visitors are allowed back on Northwest ISD campuses with some limitations beginning Monday, October 18. For those of you new to our district or with younger children, this may be one of your first times on campus in light of the pandemic. For information about visiting or volunteering at an NISD school, click here. All school volunteers must have a background check. Information can be found at the NISD Volunteer Website. We look forward to seeing you soon!

Lunch Visitors Sign-Up

We are thrilled to welcome visitors for lunch beginning October 18th. Due to continued COVID protocols and social distancing, we are limiting visitors to 5 outside guests per lunch period.

Please plan to arrive 5 minutes prior to your child's lunch period. All visitors must sign up in advance (link here) and will need to check in with the office using their valid driver's license or government issued ID. We are limiting 2 visitors per student.

There will be assigned tables for guests to have lunch with their child. Only you and your child will be able eat at the gust tables. No friends allowed.

When students line up after lunch, you will need to exit through the office. For safety and security reasons, family guests cannot follow students to class or the playground.

NISD COVID Testing Site

Northwest ISD has partnered with GeneIQ to use Old Texan Fieldhouse as a drive-through COVID PCR testing site for the community at large. Each COVID PCR test is free, though more extensive testing will be billed to an individual’s insurance.

Students, families, staff and community members can all receive COVID testing in the parking lot in front of Old Texan Fieldhouse without exiting their vehicles. All testing is administered by GeneIQ personnel, while Northwest ISD is only providing its location for use as the testing facility. Patients with symptoms will have the option of a regular COVID-19 PCR test or a combination test called COVID+, that tests for COVID-19, Flu A & B, and RSV.

Testing takes place from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesdays through Saturdays. When Northwest ISD Stadium hosts a game, the drive-through testing service will close at 5 p.m. to assist in game-day traffic. To be eligible for a COVID test, the individual being tested must exhibit symptoms or be classified as a close contact. Registration is required; individuals in need of testing can register on location or at www.mycovidappointment.com.
