Room 18 News
What's New In Room 18?
Dear Room 18 Parents and Guardians,
Happy Spring! I don't know about you, but I had my doubts that it would ever arrive after this winter! I hope that you and your children enjoyed Spring Break. From the shares and journal entries on Tuesday morning, it sounds like some of you were pretty busy!
Our PSSA testing starts on Monday. The ILA testing dates are: 4/13, 4/14, 4/16, and 4/17. The math testing dates are: 4/21, 4/22, and 4/23. The science testing dates are 4/28 and 4/29. It is a busy and challenging month ahead, but we have plenty of fun activities built in throughout the month. I am confident that the students are ready and prepared to take on the challenge. They have worked hard all year and I look forward to seeing all of their hard work and dedication pay off. Please make sure that your child arrives on time for school during the testing window so that they can get their breakfast and begin on time. Thank you for all that you do to support, assist, motivate, and energize your child everyday, especially during this time. Enjoy the homework free nights!
During the testing, we will follow an alternate schedule. On non-testing days, we will follow our typical schedule. Here is the daily schedule for the testing days:
12:05- 12:35: Lunch
12:35- 1:00: Recess
2:15 - 3:00: Math (Science during the week of Math PSSA's)
3:00- 3:20: Science/ Free Time
We will all be excited to return to our normal routine on April 30th!
We will attend a multimedia assembly on Friday 4/24 at ETR in the afternoon. Please sign and return the permission slip that came home in this week's Wednesday Express. There is no cost for the trip, but I do need a permission slip for each child. We will also have a special fun and relaxing afternoon on Wednesday 4/15. The students will engage in various activities throughout the school.
All yearbook orders are due by April 17th. The order form was in this week's Wednesday Express.
Have a great month!
