Mrs. Greene's 3rd Grade
May 11, 2018
A Great Week!
We have exactly 13 days left to be together this year. I already feel myself getting sad and feeling that "end of the year" feeling I get knowing I'm losing a group of GREAT kids. We will make the MOST out of the next 13 days!
Did you know I hold a "Mrs. Greene's Academy Awards" ceremony on the last day of school in Room 9? Students vote on students who fit certain attributes (most improved reader, most beautiful eyes, most athletic, etc...). Students are asked to dress up for the ceremony and walk the "red carpet" to receive their special award(s). They LOVE it and so do I! More information will come home about this event in the next week or so.
Happy Mother's Day to you! I hope you family spoils you this weekend!
Enjoy your special day on Sunday!
Some AMAZING things I saw this week in Room 9:
- Hazel is such a sweet girl. She is kind and patient with everyone in Room 9!
- Bridget worked so hard with her team planning their Word Study game. She enjoys working on individual/team projects!
- Saryu has become such a talented writer! She listens during writing instruction, takes my suggestions during conferencing with her teachers, and applies the skills in her own writing.
- It is a pleasure to watch Jack be such a voracious reader! Any time he gets the chance to READ-TO-SELF, he is one happy boy!
- Ethan is working very hard on his Fairy Tale. Ethan is the kind of boy who would rather be at recess than writing a story, but he never gives less than his best on tasks he is asked to complete!!
- I overheard Natalie giving a friend wonderful advice. It made me smile listening to her!
- Cole has an OSMO, which is an educational tool for an ipad. He texted his mom from school today (he showed me AFTER he did it) to see if she would bring it in to help student with their drawings for their Fairy Tale books. His kindness warmed my heart! Thank you, Alina, for bringing it in. :)
Looking forward to a GREAT week next week!
Enjoy your weekend...
