I guess the highlight of my week was when I returned from the ISA Autumn Study conference to attend our Senior School production “A Night at the Movies”. What a joyous performance that was and I was delighted to see that we had twenty seven performers from Senior Girls.

This week has been anti-bullying week. Each class has learned about what bullying is and how it can be stopped. The theme this year is: “The Power of Good” which was introduced to the girls in assembly on Tuesday by Miss Pelizzari.

Christmas Hampers

Please help us with our usual collection of non-perishable items for the Maidenhead branch of the Salvation Army Christmas Hampers. We are collecting from Monday 21 November through to Monday 5 December with the following requests for each division:

Nursery - Biscuits

Lower Juniors – Fruit Cakes

Upper Junior - Toiletries / Non-alcoholic beverages including tea/coffee

Years 7 & 8 - Luxury Items

Years 9 & 10 - Tin Food/Preserves

Year 11 - Novelty Items

Christmas Lunch

This year our Christmas lunch will be served to Transition, Junior, Senior Girls and Sixth Form on Friday 9 December. The menu can be viewed on the school website. As almost all our pupils last year chose to enjoy Christmas lunch, this year we ONLY need to know if your child does not wish to have Christmas lunch, or has a dietary requirement. If this is the case, please complete this form by 30 November indicating your child’s requirements.


Autumn Girls Concert - Wednesday 23 November

Please join us for an evening of music making involving students in Years 7-13. All students who are in ensemble, choir and Rock School will be involved as well as selected solo items. A letter has been emailed home to all our Senior Girls parents inviting you to come along even if your daughter is not performing - it should be a great evening.


Year 10 & Year 11 Building Resilience Evening - Tuesday 29 November - An insight into adolescence 2016

A reminder letter has been emailed home - if you wish to attend please don't forget to return the 'tear off' slip by Monday 21 November.

LIBRARY NEWS

Date for your diary… Travelling Book Fair: 23rd and 24th November 2016!

On Wednesday 23rd and Thursday 24th November 2016 we will be hosting the Travelling Book Fair in the Senior Library. All students will bring home a letter and a leaflet at the end of the week inviting you to visit the Fair, and explaining the safe and easy payment options available on the web site: www.travellingbooks.co.uk. This includes an excellent facility to purchase pre-paid book vouchers which may be redeemed at the Fair.

The Fair will be open all day until 5pm including break and lunchtime. There will be a terrific selection of fiction and non-fiction books as well as some fun stationery to buy.

Come and start your Christmas shopping with us – every sale provides commission for free books for our Libraries!

Auditions Pieces

Girls have been asked to create four 'Moving Movements' to music - we have discussed ideas around walking through storms, a seed growing into a full tree and responding to the weather.

The performance piece is going to be in the style of 'Physical Theatre' with use of strong movements, facial expressions, body language and sound pictures. This has been looked at in depth in club through use of group workshops and example videos.

SENIORS DRAMA – Theatre Trip Saturday 19 November

Meet outside the Theatre Royal in Windsor at 3.30pm outside the Theatre Royal Windsor. Collection time between 6.30pm/6.45pm.
