December 2018
A Message from the Principal
Dear PVES Families,
Wow! It's December, that is crazy to me as the second half of the school year always seems to fly by and here we are seemingly approaching the middle of the year! I hope you and your family had a great week!
We have a new club starting this week - our Coding Club! As we have with all our clubs, we had much more interest than we have spots available. I am hopeful we may be able to host a second round for this club in the spring. If we are able to do so, those who were interested but not able to get in this fall/winter will be given first priority for the spring club. We're excited to get this new club going!
I want to thank our PTO for their help with my project celebrating our staff this holiday season. This project kicks off at the end of this first week of December and wouldn't be what it is without their help. They are financially supporting several portions of our celebration including a catered lunch, some gift-cards for a raffle, help with staff shirts, etc. I cannot thank them enough!
As a reminder we have rescheduled our Holiday Program to December 13th - we look forward to two performances that day (1:30/7:00pm) our families are of course invited to both. We look forward to a great show facilitated by Mrs. Mix and Mrs. Hulvey!
I wish you and yours a wonderful Holiday Season and Happy New Year! I value each and every one of you as part of the PVES family!
Sincerely,
Sara Hammill

A Note from Nurse Laurie:
Keeping in mind the amount of illness during this time of year, here are a few reminders to help decrease the spread of germs:
· Use tissues to cover the mouth and nose when sneezing or coughing.
· Dispose of the tissue immediately in a trash can.
· If you don’t have a tissue, cough/ sneeze into your upper sleeve, not your hands.
· Remember to wash your hands after coughing or sneezing.
· Wash hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
· When hands are not visibly dirty, alcohol-based hand sanitizers that contain at least 60% alcohol may be used.
