Technology
Hello Parents,
We have had a great first month of school! Our students are off to an amazing start! FDES teachers are doing a great job getting students settled into classroom and school routines. Please see our Technology Specials below! This is an exciting new Specials Class this year where students have the opportunity to practice those all-important keyboarding skills! Here Mrs. Strid is teaching our first graders how to log onto Type-tastic which can be found on their eClass Landing Page under the Learning Links section.
Warmest Regards,
Dr. Barbara Tucker,
Your Very Proud Principal
Parent Portal
Gwinnett County Public Schools provides parents with a wealth of resources through the Parent Portal. If you have not yet registered, please click the below for more information.
My Payments Plus is a multipurpose website we use here at Gwinnett County Public Schools. Once you create an account, you can use the site to pay for school lunches and field trips or to review and sign important documents. For help registering for an account, you can watch this quick video.
We're off to a great start! Several students have already earned tokens for reading, and have redeemed minutes for rewards. During Reading Rewards orientation, I told the students that they may read anything: magazines, books, comics, newspapers, etc. But sometimes the material your child is reading, doesn't come up in the search box. Here's what to do if the book or other material your child is reading won't come up in the search results.
1. Scroll to the bottom of the page in the results.
2. Click on the blue button "Search some more!"
3. Scroll to the bottom of the page in the results again.
4. Click on the gray button "Really can't find my book, let me add it!"
5. Fill out the boxes for Title (and author if there is one). (Only do the cover and ISBN if you want...this isn't necessary to add the book to the library).
6. Click the blue button, "Add book to my Library".
Please email beth_martinez@gwinnett.k12.ga.us or melissa_gindlesperger@gwinnett.k12.ga.us or call us at (678) 765-4939 with any questions you have about Reading Rewards.
Media Center Volunteers
WE NEED YOU! We are seeking volunteers to help our students in the library; this is a great way to be involved with the school and to meet other parents and staff. We are looking for volunteers to help with circulation and shelving once a week or once every two weeks for two or three hour shifts. I would love to have two volunteers every morning and afternoon to help our library run smoothly and efficiently. Please email me at beth_martinez@gwinnett.k12.ga.us or call me at (678) 765-4939 if you are able to volunteer. Thanks! Beth Martinez
Grandparent's Lunch will be Friday, September 6. Please look for information to come from your child's teacher as lunch times will be different.
