A MESSAGE FROM MRS. PITTSER, SUPERINTENDENT
Greetings Panther Community! As we begin our second quarter, I am excited to share with you the wonderful start we have had. Many students have either gained awareness or been reminded of the foundations we prioritize in each of our facilities, and these crucial life skills are practiced each and every day.
T.E.A.M.
Treat others as you want to be treated
Everyday come prepared to learn
Always be respectful
Make good choices
These expectations are not solely for our students; they are intended for our entire school community. These expectations are more than words; they are actions. Exercising these expectations leads to the positive climate and healthy learning environments found within our schools. We hope to see students carry and thrive on their T.E.A.M. experiences beyond their time at Miami Trace.
ADENA MOBILE UNIT TO VISIT MT
For the past two years, Miami Trace Local School District has partnered with Adena Health Systems to support Ohio's Whole Child Framework. A whole child approach helps ensure that students are healthy, safe, engaged, supported and challenged.
One of the newest initiatives in this program involves access to health services. Beginning in November, Adena will provide its Mobile Clinic on the Miami Trace Campus for staff and students on a biweekly basis. If you are interested in your child gaining this access if ever needed, please be sure to complete the Adena Student Consent Form and return it to your child’s school. It can be found under the Students & Parents tab on the District’s website.
ATTENDANCE AWARENESS MONTH
Your Future Starts With Being Here Today -- this is the slogan the District Attendance Committee chose for Attendance Awareness Month, emphasizing the vital link between student attendance and success. This campaign aims to inform and engage the school community about the significance of attendance and the role it plays in students' academic, physical, emotional, social, and mental health.
To spread the word, banners and yard signs were strategically placed throughout the community. Additionally, nationwide data and facts regarding student attendance, along with tips for families, were shared on social media and digital boards at all home events.
To engage students directly, the committee organized a district-wide Attendance Awareness Poster Contest. Students from 3rd to 12th grade were given a week to create artwork that conveyed the importance of school attendance. Meanwhile, students in Kindergarten through 2nd grade participated in a coloring contest. Out of hundreds of submissions, the committee selected one winner from each school building and one coloring contest winner from grades K-2. The winning artwork will be enlarged and printed on banners to be displayed in front of each school building.
The Miami Trace Athletic Boosters graciously provided prizes for the winners. The Middle School and High School winners each received a $50 Amazon Gift Card while the two Elementary School winners earned a pizza party with their homeroom class at the Board Office with Mrs. Kim Pittser, Superintendent, and Mr. Rob Enochs, Assistant Superintendent.
Miami Trace's commitment to excellent attendance is not just about the present; it's about paving the way for a brighter future for our students – something Panther Nation can be MTProud of!
👏 Congratulations to Our Contest Winners 👏
