Ripon Cathedral School Update

The Great Cathedral Bake Off!
Star Bakers
Today we had a fabulous Children in Need Day.
We started by reviewing the amazing bakes that had been sent in for our Bake Off Competition. Many of the pictures are included in the videos below!
It was almost impossible for us to choose, as the standard was so high. It was a good job we didn't have to taste all the bakes, as we had over 70 entries so it would have taken a really long time.
We judged by looking at pictures of the bakes and we did not know who they belonged to. After a very difficult judging session we narrowed it down to our favourite four.
It was then time for a long discussion, before we chose the winner. We still didn't know who the bake belonged to.
In worship we shared the pictures of our favourite four and then announced the winner, which we discovered was created by Robson in Year 3.
He has won the prize of being Headteacher for a day!
As the entries were all amazing it was decided that everybody who entered was a star baker and they were given a special star badge to wear with pride.
Well done to everyone who entered!

Odd Socks Day for Anti Bullying Week
As a school we thought about 'One Kind Word' and each class had a chain of kindness when they passed on messages to show kindness and respect to others.
The children particularly enjoyed the 'One Kind Word' song for anti-bullying week, which you can watch by clicking on the link below:
Year 3 Class Worship on anti bullying
This week Year 3 put together our worship all about anti-bullying week. They shared some great ideas and even created a fabulous poem that they shared with the school called Speak Up, Stand Up!
Speak Up Stand Up!
If a bully kicks you to the ground,
Speak up, stand up!
If he spins you round and round,
Speak up, stand up!
If those girls call you mean names,
Speak up, stand up!
If they make you play their horrible games,
Speak up, stand up!
If you’re being teased for being small,
Speak up, stand up!
If you’re picked on for being tall,
Speak up, stand up!
If you see someone being sad,
Speak up, stand up!
Go and be that friendly lad,
Speak up, stand up!
If you see a lonely lass,
Speak up, stand up!
Tell an adult in your class,
Speak up, stand up!
If you see something that is wrong,
Speak up, stand up!
Then you can remember our little song,
Speak up, stand up!
School Update
It has been another fun week in school, culminating in our baking competition. We have all been very impressed with the entries that have been received and I know the Ambassadors had an extremely difficult job picking a winner. I do hope you enjoyed tasting your children's creations!
A big well done to Robson in Year 3 who will be headteacher for a day! I am sure he will do an amazing job.
COVID Cases
Numbers do continue to be high in the area and we are still asking that PCR tests are accessed for children who have any symptoms, even if they are mild. The Delta variant does include the following reported symptoms:
- headache
- sneezing
- runny nose
- sore throat
Do remember that on Wednesdays there is a PCR mobile testing centre in Ripon. Tests can be booked online and results are often back within a 24 period.
Have a great weekend.
