What's going on in the classroom?
Reading
We will be learning the 5 types of clues that authors give us in texts. Those are synonyms, antonyms, the definition, an example, or at times the author doesn't give you the meaning of the word, and you must make an inference about what the word means.
If your students is struggling to determine the meaning of a word encourage him/her to read around the word and use clues in the text to determine the meaning!
Math
This would be a GREAT time to review multiplication facts with your child! As we move into division if a student hasn't mastered his/her facts division is going to become frustrating!
Ask your student about playing the Price is Right last week in math class, and making "ballpark" estimates! We had so much fun!
Science
In the classroom the students are wrapping up their work with plant structures and their functions and are moving on to animal structures and animal adaptations.
SHHHHH..... We are working on an upcoming field trip where we will get to see plant structures in real life! Stay tuned for more info!
