Washington Elementary (9/16/22)
It's GREAT to be a Washington Expolorer!
September 16, 2022
Dear Washington Families,
We have had an incredible first two weeks with students. I love the noise that students bring to the building- the laughter, the singing, and the buzz of social interactions. In addition to establishing new classroom families, our teachers have been assessing students to find out where each one is at. As a Title I school, we are so fortunate to have customized reading groups for every student and will be adding math groups for our 3rd-5th graders. These groups will begin on 9/19 for intermediate students and 9/26 for primary students. Check in with your child to find out who their WTR (Walk to Read) teacher is.
Also, I would like to personally invite each one of you to attend our first PTA general membership meeting of the year. The meeting is Thursday, September 29th at 6:30pm. We will be meeting in the gym and are excited to grow this very important partnership at Washington. I hope to see you there!
Finally, please check out the list of upcoming events and important dates below. At Washington, we are committed to our community and providing high quality experience for each family. It is such an honor and privilege to work with your child each and every day. Thank you for sharing them with me.
Sincerely,
Gelinda Williams
Principal
