Dr. Agnes A-Kumi...Week 33, 5/02/22...Luisa Parkinson
Dear BUENA VISTA Families,
As usual, Buena Vista (BV), continues to focus on Academics, Social Emotional Learning and Well-being (SEL), and Positive Behavior Intervention Supports (PBIS).
- A big THANK YOU to our PTA for bringing "Yes to Success" and BMX assemblies for our students. Our students loved the assemblies! Please continue to support our PTA.
- CAASPP testing for 3rd-6th grade students will start on Tuesday, May 3rd.
- Provide healthy breakfast for students. A healthy body leads to a healthy and active mind. Students can also eat breakfast at the cafeteria - 7:40 AM.
- Please ensure that your child is well rested on school days. A good rest, helps the mind to be active.
- The schedule for COVID testing will continue to be twice a week at BV - Tuesdays from 7:30AM to 9:30AM and Fridays from 10:30AM to 12:30 PM.

Battle of the Books
Five students represented our school at the Santa Barbara County Battle of the Books. They participated in several activities, including a crossword competition, nominating a book for next year’s list, and creating a battle shield. One of our students won a book from a local author for the crossword competition, Charlotte K. Congratulations!
For next year, we plan to start in September and have a school wide Battle next March during an assembly for 4-6 grades.
