Fish Fry Update
We will be having a Fish Fry on Ash Wednesday (March 6) this year. It is a fundraiser to help pay for the students' 8th grade trip. Please come out and support our students.
More than likely this will be our last Ash Wednesday Fish Fry. Next year we will be moving towards other events, such as a Fat Tuesday Meal/Event.

Again, some of these items are a few dollars, but the items received last week alone totaled over $50!! I am so grateful and so blessed - and so are my kiddos. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

Thank You notes turn into impromptu tours
Due to weather earlier this month, we were unable to get out and deliver thank you notes to the people and places in our community. We ended up going out last Wednesday instead. We visited WRBI where we were invited into the booth to say "Hello" during the Bookshelf's book talk (Unfortunately we didn't get a picture but if you heard 40 little voices on the radio- it was us :)
We went to Stitch in Time, Joan's T-Shirts and then to the Mayor's Office. From there, the Mayor invited the Kinders back for a tour of his office and to talk about what his role is in our community. Our last stop was the firehouse. They invited us in and Kinders walked through the ambulances and fire trucks. They had so much fun and it was such a treat to get to talk to so many friends in our community!

Vision Grant
The students then went back to the classroom and learned about the time period of the book (the 1930s) and tried to make sense of the laws of the time, namely “Separate But Equal” and how it was really anything but that. They start reading the book this week and are all super excited! Nice job, Mrs. Giesting! And, once again, thank you Joan and John Hillenbrand and the VISION Grant Committee for your generosity. This will have an impact on students for years and years to come! Thank you!

St. Louis 7/8 girls basketball vs Franklin Co
Monday night the St. Louis 7/8 Lady Cardinals traveled to Franklin Co and took 2 wins away with them. Both great games for the Cardinals.
The 7th grade Lady Cards beat the Wildcats 45-9. Scoring for St. Louis were Kate Weber with 11pts, Ava Owens with 9pts, Claire Saner scoring 6pts, Sadie Wachsmann and Catherine Streator both bringing 5pts each, Izza Wonnell hitting the 3pt, and Izzi Price, Lilly Schebler, and Rhea Miller all scoring 2pts each. We played a great game defensivly which in turn made scoring offensively easier. Nice job ladies, we are now 7-0 for the season.
The 8th grade girls won against the Wildcats also with a final score of 26-16. Scoring for St. Louis were Catherine Streator with 10pts, Megan Bauer with 7pts, Clarie Saner with 4pts, Summer Ratcliffe and Sadie Wachsmann each with 2pts, and Kate Weber with 1pt. These girls did a great job against the zone and finding the open shots. Defensively their game was where it needed to be and we were able to hold them from scoring. Nice job ladies, great win!

SLS 7/8 girls vs Milan
Last night the 7/8 Lady Cardinals hosted the Milan Indians. Two great games that gave us both a win for the night.
The 7th grade Lady Cards won with a final score of 34-11. Scoring for SLS were Catherine Streator with 11pts, Claire Saner with 10pts, Kate Weber bringing 6pts, Izza Wonnell with 3pts, and both scoring 2pts each were Ava Owens and Rhea Miller. We had a really great defensive game by all. They are now 8-0 on the season.
The 8th grade girls had a great game also. They had a final score of 23-20. Scoring for SLS were Megan Bauer with 9pts, Summer Ratcliffe with 6pts, Kate Weber with 5pts, Sadie Wachsmann with 2pts, and Anna Wanstrath bringing us 1pt. Haley Geisen brought us one of her best defensive games to date 5 steals on the night and numerous times got tangled on defense for the jump ball.
