Our Learning Community...

This week, most of our 3rd-5th graders completed their annual CAASPP Literacy and Mathematic! We are so so so proud of their hard work and taking these assessments seriously. Our 5th graders will take the Science portion next week and students who have not finished yet will be given time throughout next week to make up or complete any unfinished tests. Thank you for all of your support and encouragement!

Next week is the Scholastic Book fair! Students will be able to visit during the school day with their class and families can visit after school. Proceeds from the Book Fair go right back into our school library, purchasing new exciting titles for our students to enjoy!

Now Enrolling...New Students for 2023-2024

If you are the parent/guardian of a student new to San Diego Unified, you can now enroll your child online! To start the online enrollment process, click on the link below. This will take you to a secure online solution provided by InfoSnap.

Only students who are enrolling for the first time in San Diego Unified School District may use our online registration system (some criteria applies). This option is available in both English and Spanish. (This online registration system is separate from the Online Enrollment Options Choice application).

After submitting the online enrollment, you will need to contact our front office at (619) 605-8800 to schedule an in-person enrollment appointment.

This online enrollment process is only for students who are new to San Diego Unified. If your child is currently enrolled, you do not need to complete this process.

*If your child is currently enrolled at another school site and they will be attending Jones Elementary for the 2023-2024 school year please contact our front office at (619) 605-8800 to schedule an in-person enrollment appointment. You can start our Jones enrollment paperwork by visiting our school website (link here).

Online LCFF Forms Available Now

Each year the district is responsible for collecting information from our students’ families to support the Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF) process. The LCFF is hallmark legislation that fundamentally changed how all local educational agencies (LEAs) in the state are funded, how they are measured for results, and the services and supports they receive to allow all students to succeed to their greatest potential.

We are collecting information now and it will be applied to the 2023 – 24 school year. We believe that starting now will reduce the burden of collecting information during the busy time of opening school in the fall and will potentially yield more complete information that will increase the amount of funding that schools and the district receive from the state.

We are starting with our online system accessed through the Parent Portal in PowerSchool. In the portal, we ask parents and families to complete a very short questionnaire that increases the district’s opportunity to receive funds from the state. The information is kept confidential and only used for allowed purposes.

Please complete the form in Parent Portal as soon as possible. If you do not have a Parent Portal account, please contact our front office to set one up. By completing the survey, you will not only be supporting the district’s efforts, but increasing the chances of our school receiving more of this valuable funding.
