IES News and Events

December/January 2017-2018

Notes from the Principal

It is so exciting to walk the halls of our building and see students working so hard in class. Lots of great learning is occurring in our classrooms. As we approach the holiday break, we are excited to see our students finish strong. Many students are working hard preparing for our upcoming UIL competition and we are certain that they will do a great job in representing Itasca Elementary. We wish each of you a wonderful holiday season!

This six weeks we are focusing on kindness. Our campus read is the book "We're all Wonders" by RJ Palacio. This is a children's book based on the book and movie "Wonder" by RJ Palacio. We are working at school on ways to be kind and we encourage you to continue this into the home and community as well. Below are 100 acts of kindness for kids. We encourage you to pick at least one act of kindness for your family to perform.
