1. Character Trait Analysis

In this activity, students used nouns, verbs, and adjectives to represent characters from Wonder by R. J. Palacio. The word clouds were made using Tagxedo (an online word cloud generator), then put into a collage using Picasa. Although Picasa is a fabulous photo editor, it requires a download. For the purpose of this activity, you might prefer to use PicMonkey, a free photo editor that works in your browser — nothing to download or install. Ridiculously easy, staggeringly gorgeous. I made this Halloween example in about 2 minutes, and the majority of that time was spent thinking of the poem!!

2. Virtual Dice

Here's a quick and easy tool for a spur of the moment review: Use virtual dice to practice sight words, multiplication problems, content vocabulary, factors and multiples, story elements, place value and more. Anything that will fit on the face of the die can be used. You can even use them as normal dice:)
