I can't believe that October is almost over! Our students have had a great month filled with lots of learning opportunities. All families should have received access to your child's report card online in Skyward. If you cannot access the report card, please call the main office and we can help you. Parent teacher conferences will be held on Monday, November 20th from 1 - 8 p.m. and Tuesday November 21st from 8:15 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
Congratulations to our top two Cherrydale Fundraiser Winners! Kyler Dawson and Nyla Whitter had the opportunity to serve as Principal and Assistant Principal for the day. It was an amazing day filled with a busy agenda!
We have some updates in the newsletter for this week. As always, please feel to contact me if you have any questions or concerns at 708-647-7100.

Paraprofessionals
Paraprofessionals assist in the provision of special education and related services for students with disabilities under the supervision of a certified or licensed teacher. Although they may assist the teacher with copying and passing out work from time to time, they are not teacher assistants; as their primary responsibilities are to support students either socially, academically, physically and/or behaviorally.
Paraprofessionals may model appropriate social behavior to maintain friendships. They may also assist academically by reteaching skills. Paraprofessionals may ensure safety on the playground to a student with an orthopedic impairment, and may support behavior by taking a student on a transition break such as a walk throughout the building.
Our colleagues are valued and essential to student learning and student achievement.
If you enjoy working with students, have a mindset that all students can learn, have patience and are ready to join our growing family at Flossmoor School District 161, please give me a call or stop into the school. More information can also be found on Illinois State Board of Education [ISBE]’s website at www.isbe.net. You can also copy this link into your browser: https://www.isbe.net/Pages/Search-Results.aspx?k=paraprofessional
If you have a concern or a few questions, please contact me directly at 708 647-7439 or email me at hpasha@sd161.org; I look forward to meeting you.
Sincerely,
Habeeba (ha-bee-buh) Pasha
