January's Core Value
Commitment is making a plan and putting it into practice. How can commitment be related to treating others right? How can making a plan be a way to show others they are important? Martin Luther King, Jr had a plan to speak out for civil rights. Because he and others showed commitment to this important cause, many people gained better treatment as a result. How can you and your family make a plan to inspire others to treat people with respect and honor?
Our school Sing-Along on December 21st was sensational!
Many thanks to our fantastic Music Teacher, Mrs. Stouffer, for coordinating a wonderful program! Our teachers were good sports as they played parts during the song “12 Days of Christmas”. The students loved watching the staff as they danced and dressed up.
Mrs. Stouffer had the children laughing, clapping, and merrily singing many favorite holiday tunes. We are already looking forward to this new Millsap tradition next school year.
Drummers Drumming and Pipers Piping!
Kindergarten Teachers Playing Reindeer Games!
Three Fabulous French Hens!

The Giving Tree
Please parents, take a look at our beautiful Giving Tree, painted by one of our wonderful volunteers!! This tree gives you the opportunity to bless the teachers at Millsap. Pick an apple off the tree and fulfill that teacher's wish. The apples have items that are valued at $10 and under. When you have fulfilled that teacher's wish, send it to school with your child with that teacher's name on it or drop it off at the front office. The teachers at Millsap are so excited about this and look forward to our support! Make our teachers’ dreams come true!!! The Giving Tree is located on the windows of the VIPS room; you can easily see it from the lunch room. Thank you in advance for your support!

Guidelines for Keeping Sick Children Home from School
A sick child who is unable to participate in school in a meaningful way should be kept home to rest and recover until symptoms resolve. Keeping a sick child home also protects other children, school staff, and visiting community members from contracting an illness that can be spread from person to person. Please be aware of the following guidelines for school attendance.
- Fever: A child should remain home with fever greater than 100° F and should only return after he/she has been fever free for 24 hours without fever-reducing medicine such as Tylenol or Motrin.
- Diarrhea/Vomiting: A child with diarrhea and/or vomiting should stay at home and return to school only after being symptom free for 24 hours.
- Conjunctivitis (Pink Eye): Following a diagnosis of pink eye, a child may return to school 24 hours after the first dose of prescribed medication has been administered.
If you take your child to a healthcare provider for an illness, please be sure to request a written letter stating when your child may return to school.
