A Message from Mrs. Fantaskey

Driving in the School Zone

Just a friendly reminder to parents, staff, and our community members to please pay close attention to your speed in the school zone. The CBRPD often monitors the area during our arrival and dismissal times, to ensure that traffic is at a safe speed for our students who are arriving and dismissing from school via buses, cars, walkers, etc. Thank you for your assistance in helping to promote traffic safety near our school.

PSSA Communications Sent 3/31/22 & 4/4/22

Field Day Teams & T-shirts

This week, students are learning their teams for our annual Field Day that will take place on June 1, 2022. Why so early, you might ask??

New this year....

Our DHSA will be purchasing T-shirts for all students to wear for field day, either blue or white.

In the coming week, look for an email blast with a Google form link to submit your child's shirt size & field day team color so the order can be placed later in April. In addition, we will post the link in the upcoming Eagle Flyer Newsletters each week.

Sound Board Technician Needed

Soaring Eagles Players are looking for a parent volunteer to run the sound board for our Doyle production of Willy Wonka, Jr. If you have sound board experience, that would be great, but it is not necessary. This volunteer would need to be available for our 3 productions:

  • Friday, May 20th at 9 AM
  • Friday, May 20 for the evening show
  • Saturday, May 21st at 1:00.
We would also ask that you attend our last few rehearsals to prepare for the performances on:
  • May 12th, 13th, 17th,18th and 19th - 3:30 to 5:30

This is an essential and important part of our production, and we would be very grateful for your help. If you are interested in filling this role, please contact Eileen Laphen - or 215-260-1811. Thank you!!!

Lost and Found

Last Call for Lost and Found!

Please ask your child/ren to check the rack and basket in the North Wing for forgotten items from the fall and winter.

Unclaimed items will be donated next week.

Attention 6th Grade Parents and Guardians!

Do you remember 12 years ago?

1. Toy Story 3 and Inception were the popular movies.

2. The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet’s Nest was Amazon’s best-selling book.

3. Demolition of Yankee Stadium in New York City was completed.

4. Starbucks and McDonald’s both began to offer free Wi-Fi to their customers.

5. Instagram was released.

6. Tik Tok by Ke$ha was all over the radio.

7. Most importantly… Your 6th Grader was born!

Whether your son or daughter is a 6th grader or senior, a yearbook recognition ad is always a great idea. In the future, seeing your message will bring a smile as they remember your love and support during these important formative years at Doyle Elementary.

See attached submission form for details*.

*Hardcopy photos

1. Hardcopies are acceptable. Deadline is 4/8/2022.
2. Hardcopies are submitted in an envelope labeled “Yearbook”.
3. Picture must be clearly labeled with the student's name on the back of the photo.
4. Yearbook committee will hold hard copy photos until the yearbook is completed and sent to the printer. Photos will be returned.

Save the Dates

Move It Outside Day

On Wednesday, April 13th, Doyle students will celebrate Move it Outside Day. This day encourages students to turn off the TV and spend time outside. Alternatives to "screen time" will be discussed in morning meetings. We appreciate your support on the home front. Please encourage your child(ren) to wear their TEAM DOYLE t-shirt and sneakers as they will be participating in outdoor physical activity stations led by our sixth-grade students. Thank you!
