Ms. Reed's Super Students

Feb. 1st- 5th

  1. Guided Reading- Guided Reading homework is something that must be completed. It will be short and simple and usually only one or two assignments a week. Every time it's completed they will receive a sticker on our chart!
  2. 21 Day Challenge! It officially started the 25th and class money has been given daily for healthy snack at school or a log in their planner about a healthy snack after school!! We are also keeping track on a chart in the hallway! Keep up the healthy choices!
  3. 2nd grade performance- Auditions were Tuesday and Wednesday! I'm unsure when the decisions are made but I will try and find out as much info as possible!
  4. Valentine Parties- They are Friday the 12th @ 1:30 and if your child wants a box, we are asking that those be made at home! For those unable to provide a decorated shoe box for the party, I will have brown bags with their names on them.

Next Week...

Second grader readers will be exploring different media sources of print: newspaper, television, websites, email and magazines.

Our writing lessons will help the children elaborate with more details to help the characters and actions in their narratives become more alive.

We will explore prepositions in our grammar talks.

The third math unit test will be on Wednesday. Please ensure that your child has practiced at home with operations involving 2 digit and 3 digit numbers, fractions, polygons and 3D figures.

The boys and girls will begin to learn about the water cycle and the connection to weather in science.

Our social studies lesson will explore good citizenship through our study of Thurgood Marshall and Irma Rangel.

Next week we will recognize Ms. Leven for the great work she does as a counselor at Carroll.

Entering daily on a positive note being reminded how KIND we can be!
