Parents and Scholars, we want to thank you all for a great week of testing. Equally so, thank you all for making our BTS dance totally awesome. Our scholars had a great time and so did out staff. We also want to thank our teachers, PTO and parent volunteers. You all are totally awesome.
MAP Testing
Our scholars will continue to complete their MAP testing Monday & Tuesday. We need 100% attendance both days.
myOn Requirements
myON is a student-centered, personalized digital library that gives students access to more than 7,000 enhanced digital books in the core collection. Titles are dynamically matched to each individual student's interests, grade and reading level. For our scholars to reach their academic goal, we need ALL of our scholars to read at least 45 minutes a week at home. To learn how to access myOn, please click here How to Access MyOn.mp4.
Student Spotlight
Let's hear it for 7th Grader, Kaylee Goff, as she was chosen to represent Twin Creeks in the No Place for Hate Back to School Kick Off. Kaylee will be featured on a national platform as she will introduce herself and ask Gold Medalist Olympic Gymnast Laurie Hernandez a question regarding overcoming obstacles. Students across the nation were provided an opportunity to submit a question to be featured. Guess what, our very own Kaylee was one of few chosen. Look for Kaylee's live appearance October 13th at 11:00 CST. To register for the viewing sign up here- https://adl.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_VVMkwg0RQHigs0Z4QqXlFA

Discipline
Parents, please encourage your scholars to adhere to the Student Code of Conduct Resources / Code of Conduct. At TCMS, we take pride in being a TEA B Rated campus and we hold our scholars to the highest expectations behaviorally and academically. We need your support. Please encourage your scholars to report inappropriate behaviors and to keep their hands to themselves. Students who fight at TCMS, will receive a complaint form that will require the student and the parents to attend court. Students should not be encouraged to fight, but should be encouraged to notify an administrator or staff member so that we may intervene and help our scholars work through their concerns. We provide SEL (socio-emotional learning) strategies to our scholars weekly.. You may click on this week’s link to read and discuss with your scholar How to avoid conflicts at school. Help us keep our school’s climate a safe and secure one with high expectations for academics and behaviors. .
Behavior to attend future activities
For students to attend our in-school or after school dances/celebrations/activities, they must have Es and Ss in conduct and cannot have been assigned to EC, in school or after school suspension. This is not a double consequence. This is an incentive based way to ensure our scholars are well-behaved during the school day throughout the year. We greatly appreciate your support in helping us maintain a safe and orderly environment.
Warrior Round Up
Scholars have 3 minutes to walk to their class. Our Warrior Round Up tardy sweeps are random. We have a tardy sweep at least once a day. Students who do not report to class before the tardy bell may receive detention, ISS or other consequences. Please remind your scholars to report directly to each class. After school detention will be assigned either Tuesday or Wednesdays. Parents must make arrangements to pick up their child at 5:40 pm.
Reminders: Spray perfumes, colognes and glass containers are not permissible
Parents, we need your help. Please remind your scholars to adhere to Resources / Dress Code. On the last page, in the Hair/Head Coverings it reads head coverings of any kind are not allowed (no hats, no beanies, no bandannas for girls or boys, no scarves, no athletic headbands, no do-rags). In the General section, aerosol sprays, permanent markers, glass items, metal combs and picks, alcohol based hand sanitizer, non-safety scissors, and other items that present a safety concern are not permitted in pockets, bags, purses or backpacks on campus and will be confiscated if found. Parents may pick them up.
After School Athletic Games
Students must be accompanied by a parent or guardian to attend any of our after school athletic games or performing and visual arts performances.
