Classroom Assignments

Classroom placements were emailed to families on Wednesday, September 1st. If for any reason you did not receive your child's placement letter, please contact the office on Tuesday morning and we can provide you with that information. You may also reach out to me directly to inquire about your class placement- kristina.wiegand@fraserk12.org.

To get your child off to a good start, we have also linked documents identifying teacher entry doors below.

Student Data Verification Forms

All students will be sent home with a Data Verification Form on Tuesday. This is used to update contacts within our PowrSchool system. Please plan to fill these out and return them the NEXT DAY on Wednesday, September 8th so we have this important information to update our contacts in our system.

Please reach out to our Main Office at 439-6500 with questions.

Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter!

First Day of School- Tuesday, September 7, 2021

School starts at 11:30AM on Tuesday, September 7th

Students are dismissed at 3:30PM.

Lunch is not served on this day and AM SACC (School Age Child Care) is not available.

First Day of School Signs

First Day of School Signs for ALL grades can be found HERE or linked on our school website. Feel free to print and take a picture to commemorate your child's first day of the 21-22 school year. Pictures may also be shared with the Fraser Community via Twitter - #FraserFamily or #EdisonShines.

Bus stop information will be available online for the 2021–2022 school year starting August 30. You can access your child’s bus stop information by clicking on the link below and entering your address.

It is very important to check your child’s bus stop, as routes have been modified for the 2021–2022 school year.

Students will be assigned a route number in lieu of a bus number. The route number is located on the left side of the entry door. To ensure transportation, all students must be at their bus stop 10 minutes prior to the scheduled arrival time. Please be sure to review the bus rules with your child, which can be found on the Transportation Department’s website.

Free Breakfasts and Lunch Continue

The State of Michigan will continue to provide a free breakfast and lunch for all student who wants them throughout the 2021-2022 school year. We will provide monthly calendars with scheduled meals as we have in the past, but families do not need to pre-order. Although not required, we do ask. that families complete the Lunch Application at www.LunchApp.com. By doing so you help ensure the school receives additional funding.

The September Breakfast/Lunch menus are pictured below and can be accessed here. Please note, due to shortages in the food service supply chain, menu substitutions will occur.

FPS Mask Policies

Masks are optional for all staff, students and visitors on campus. We will have masks available in all of our buildings for anyone who needs one. Fraser Public Schools encourages everyone who is not fully vaccinated to wear a face covering. Facial coverings are a safe, and proven strategy to prevent secondary transmission of this aggressive Delta variant in schools. Masks are primarily intended to reduce the emission of virus-laden droplets. They also help reduce inhalation of these droplets by the wearer. We ask everyone to respect each individual’s choice whether or not to wear a mask.

Masks must be worn on Fraser Public School buses. The CDC requires masks to be worn on school buses.

At-Home Health Screening

If your child is feeling under the weather at all, please be sure to keep him/her home. Teach your child to cover their cough or sneeze and wash their hands or use hand sanitizer often. We encourage you to perform daily self-assessments for COVID-19, but the daily screener is no longer required. Although not required, we have linked the CDC's Coronavirus Self-Checker HERE for those looking for a resource.

Health, Safety, and Covid-19 Communication

We hope our Edison families are staying healthy. Fraser Public Schools' intention is to return to a normal school environment and routine for the 2021-2022 school year. Find the latest district communications regarding COVID-19 HERE.

Procedure when a student or staff member tests positive for COVID-19
When a student or staff member tests positive for COVID-19, he/she should notify the Macomb County Health Department at (586) 463-3750 during normal business hours. Additionally, families and staff members should contact the school administrator. The individual should stay home and isolate for at least 10 days from the first date of symptoms or 10 days from the test date if asymptomatic AND fever-free for 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medications and improved symptoms.

Fraser Public Schools will be reporting all COVID-19 positive cases to the Macomb County Health Department (MCHD). The MCHD will investigate to determine if any additional students or staff should be quarantined. We will continue to work with our Health Department to support these efforts.

Does Your Child Have Medical Needs?

If your child has specific medical needs, please reach out to the main office prior to the start of school. In order to administer medication, consent forms must be completed. Consent forms for prescription medications must include dosage and frequency information signed by a physician. Medication, including inhalers, must be stored in the main office and not in backpacks or pockets. In addition, if your child has a medical plan, it will need to be updated for the 21-22 school year.

Please find medication forms linked below for your convenience.

Parking Lot Safety

For the safety of all students, we ask parents picking up and dropping off to follow our parking lot traffic patterns. We also urge parents to park in designated parking spots and not block handicap spots. We encourage adults to walk students through the parking lot. It is also important that families are not parking or dropping off students in the bus lane. Your patience and assistance will go a long way in keeping our students safe.

Also, pursuant to state law and board policy, please do not use tobacco products on school premises. This includes the school parking lot.

Your assistance in keeping students safe is greatly appreciated!
