Jefferson Elementary
Jaguar Journal March 3rd, 2023
A Message from Ms. Brueske
Greetings Families,
We have had an exciting few weeks here at Jefferson! We started off with a school wide assembly where students celebrated individual as well as collective accomplishments. We recognized our Rock Star Readers who showed grit in growing in their reading skills. We cheered for our Jammin JAGS for being students that show their JAGS skills (Being Prepared, Acting responsibly, Giving Respect, Thinking Safety First).
We celebrated our 100th day of school with special activities geared towards students engaging in learning by exploring the number 100 and taking pride in their own growth that they have worked to achieve this year.
We also had some opportunities to welcome in our families and community. Starting off by welcoming in our NEW kindergartners and their families. Over 20 families were able to attend our Kindergarten Round Up night and hear all about our loving Jefferson Community and what exciting things lie ahead here when they start their educational journey with us next fall.
Our Spring Musical Concert highlighted the musical talents of our Kindergarten, Second and Fourth Graders. I can't emphasize enough how special it is to have our families and community back in our schools experiencing this live performance...lots of smiles and memories being made in the moment!
Lastly, one of the most essential pieces of our work is getting feedback from our families. Linked below is a survey for you to submit. If you would prefer to fill out the survey during our Parent Teacher Conferences, devices and support on how to do that will be available.
Thank you for taking time for this valuable feedback. We look forward to see you and your student March 16th or 21st to celebrate all the growth they've made this year!
Everything we do is intentional in fulfilling our District mission: Mankato Area Public Schools (MAPS) is committed to working together equitably, with families and communities, so that each learner has the knowledge and skills to be a successful and contributing citizen in a diverse global society.

Would you like to be a substitute teacher?
Substitute Teaching: Have you ever thought about being a substitute teacher? Our sub pool is quite limited this year, and we are on the hunt for interested individuals to consider this opportunity. A 4-year Bachelor's Degree is required, and you would need to obtain a substitute license, but we can help with that process. AND...if you only wanted to sub here at Jefferson, and nowhere else, we could help to support this. If you have any inkling that you might want to do this, please reach out to me!!! mbrues1@isd77.org. Details around how to acquire this licensure are linked below. We would love to have you at Jefferson!
