Lilburn Middle School Newsletter - SEPTEMBER 2017
Principal's Corner 09/28/2017
Greetings to All:
It’s hard to believe that our students have almost completed a quarter of the school year. This is a critical time for our students in that they must make sure that all missing assignments have been turned in, and that they are on the path towards academic excellence. In an effort to provide optimal learning opportunities for students, we ask that you limit student check-outs to emergencies and medical appointments only. We truly need our students to be present for learning. In addition, we are encouraging all students to read at least 20-30 minutes per night and write short summaries about what they have read. Most importantly, we need our students to do all homework and review notes daily.
Please check your child’s agenda book for homework assignments daily. Also, student grades and progress can be monitored through the Parent Portal. We would like to encourage you to sign-up for the Parent Portal, ClassDojo, and opt-in to "SchoolMessenger". Students can monitor their grades, access online resources, and teacher course pages through their “My Student” login.
Our eighth grade students will be taking the Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test 8/9 (PSAT 8/9) on Wednesday, October 25th. To learn more about the PSAT and view sample questions, please click on the link below.
