Hollywood Community of Schools Wins an Innovation Grant!

The Hollywood Community of Schools has received a $500,000 grant to support Arts education in every school during the Spring Semester of 2022. Schools will partner with an Arts organization such as Fountain Theater, Little Kids Rock, and Versa-style Dance Company. Dr. Brandy, Hollywood CoS Administrator, said, “We want to bring the magic of our Arts pathway from Gardner Elementary School to Bancroft Middle School to Hollywood High School to all of our schools. The Arts activate social and emotional learning and give students greater access to academic content. We believe that student thrive in our community because the Arts thrive in our schools.”

Dual Language Programs in the Hollywood Community of Schools

Dual Language Programs have three benefits for students:


1. Students can earn the California State Seal of Biliteracy.

2. Gaining proficiency in more than one language supports academic achievement.

3. Speaking more than one language fosters Socio-cultural Competence.


Harvard Elementary School, Kingsley Elementary School, and Le Conte Middle School all have Dual Language programs in Spanish and English. Grant Elementary School’s program is in Armenian and English.

Parent School Experience Survey

Update: The Parent Survey window will close on Sunday, December 19th, 2021


  • The Fall 2021 School Experience Survey Window will be administered from October 25th to December 19th.

    • To protect the health and safety of everyone in the LAUSD school community, all parents are highly encouraged to complete their survey online if possible.
    • Parents can access the ONLINE Parent Survey by clicking on the appropriate Parent Survey button above (during administration) and choosing their child’s school from a drop-down menu to begin the survey.
    • Only a limited number of PAPER surveys were shipped to schools. Paper surveys should be reserved for those households with limited or no internet connectivity. Parent who need a paper copy of the survey should contact their child’s school. Those parents who receive a paper survey will mail it back directly to our vendor rather than return it to the school. Postage-paid envelopes will be provided with each paper survey.
