From the Nurse

News from the nurse

If your student is going into 7th grade next school year, they will need the Meningitis and TDAP vaccine before school starts.

You can get them from your family doctor; the Lorain County Health Department at 9880 S. Murray Ridge Rd. Elyria, Call 440 284-3206 for an appointment. Lorain County Health and Dentistry has several locations. Call for an appointment at 440-240-1655. Walgreens and several other places offer some of the vaccines as well.

There is a 2 week grace period after school starts but after that the student will not be able to attend without proof of vaccinations per state mandate after that. The exclusion date will be September 14, 2023.

When you get the vaccinations, please send a copy to the office and I will make sure they are in their records.

If your student has a serious medical condition that we need to know about and share with the staff for the next school year, please email hessrose@elyriaschools.org.
