Counselors Connect Engage

Mrs. Dula and I are happy to support teaching and learning here at Taylor Elementary.

Mrs. Dula and Mrs. Sharpe are committed to support teaching and learning. We believe that the mission of Taylor and the mission of the Be Kind People project are similar in its objective. The mission of The Be Kind People Project is to improve the social, emotional, and learning environment in our nation’s schools by purposefully thanking teachers and equipping students with character development tools that build positive and healthy relationship skills and foster social and emotional learning.

We believe that this partnership and emphasis on "being kind kids" will create an environment that will foster strong inter-personal relationships among our students. It includes personal decisions, intentional actions, goodness, commitment and accountability. All of these elements are foundations for teaching, which will positively impact student achievement.

Weekly Recognition of Taylor's "Kind Kids".

This is EXCITING! Every week Taylor will celebrate our "Be Kind Kids". Every Monday, a selected grade level will choose 1 student to be recognized on the morning announcements. These students will participate in a group dance to celebrate their demonstration of the monthly character word. For example, Kindergarten teachers will choose 1 student from their class to be featured on the Taylor morning news show. There would be 7 students total. Each week we will rotate grade levels. We will take pictures of the featured "Kind Kids" and display them on our dedicated board. Begin looking for the student that you want to represent your class. The students are going to love this recognition. For more information, please follow the link below.

Teshia Dula and Tracie Sharpe

With a special gift for learning
And with a heart that deeply cares,
You add a lot of love

To everything you share,
And even though
You mean a lot,
You’ll never know how much,
For you helped
To change the world
Through every life you touched.
You sparked the creativity
In the students whom you taught,
And helped them strive for goals
That could not be bought,
You are such a special teacher
That no words can truly tell
However much you’re valued
For the work you do so well.
