Weekly Update November 12, 2021
Monday, November 29, 2021 Asynchronous Day of Learning
A Message from Superintendent Barrett
As we approach the holiday season where each of us will gather with friends and family to celebrate and give thanks, I would like to express my gratitude to our whole school community for showing up this school year, each and every day, to make sure our PK-12 students receive what they need.
As you may know, substitute shortages for teachers and support staff have drastically impacted our year, reducing our ability to give teachers and staff much-needed professional learning and collaboration time. Therefore, to allow our staff time to work on tasks required for future teaching and learning in their classrooms, we will be adjusting our school day on Monday, November 29, to be an asynchronous learning day for students.
On this day, students will be assigned independent work to complete at home. There will be no in-person or teacher-led virtual learning and students will not be required to sign in to meet with teachers on this day.
We know our school community will continue to support our teachers and staff as they work on developing and implementing high quality learning opportunities for our students. For this, we are grateful.

Inclement Weather Procedures
As winter approaches, we want to provide information about the process we use to make decisions regarding closing school for inclement weather. Unfortunately, there is no absolute formula for deciding to close school or stay open. Weather conditions can progress from mild to severe quickly, but we will do our best to inform you of a school closing as soon as we possibly can.
