AN IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM MRS LAPLANT
Monday, May 9, 2022
Dear Country Dale Families,
We work every day to provide a safe learning environment for our students and staff at Country Dale. This includes conducting regular safety drills. As indicated in our District and School Safety Plans and the Wisconsin State Statutes, the school safety drills currently include practicing for fire, security issues (lockdown/hold/evacuation) and severe weather/tornado. New this year, we will be practicing for reunification following an evacuation.
Each school in the district has a designated location, referred to as a “Safe Haven,” to which staff would evacuate students in the event of a hazard in their school. In the fall, Country Dale students and staff practiced evacuating to our Safe Haven but now we would like to practice what we would do if we were not able to return to school from our Safe Haven. In order to make this drill manageable for the first time conducting it, we are only practicing with the students and staff in our 4th grade classrooms at Country Dale.
The Reunification Drill will take place during the morning of Thursday, May 19th. For the purpose of this drill, we have partnered with the Franklin Police and Fire Departments. Please know that students and the community should be prepared to see school buses and emergency vehicles at and around Country Dale during the time of the drill. We encourage you to discuss this information with your child(ren) to help them understand the importance of the procedures we have in place.
If you have questions or concerns regarding this drill, please contact me.
Thank you,
Shaunna LaPlant, Principal
Country Dale Elementary School

COVID-19 UPDATES
CASES ON THE UPTICK: We have been experiencing more positive COVID-19 cases this week amongst students and staff across the district. This is consistent with what is being seen in and around the community. We ask families to please be diligent in keeping your children home when they are experiencing symptoms or are sick. Please continue to report any symptoms or sickness through the online absence reporting form process.
TESTING CHANGES: Walk-in on-site testing through FPS is no longer available for students and their family members. Students and their family members who are at home and need access to testing are recommended to visit a community testing site. For more information, please visit the Summit Clinical Labs website or the DHS Community Testing page here. Students who are present at school and in need of access to testing can be tested in their building through the ongoing partnership between FPS and Summit Clinical Labs.
