Our wonderful PTA Staff Appreciation Coordinators (Ramon, Patty, and Stacy!) are planning a delicious lunch for the staff on Thursday, January 25! One way you can participate is by either signing up to bring a pot of soup or bringing in the accessories to make this lunch absolutely soup-er (I’m looking at you – tasty baguette at HEB!). Thanks for your SOUPport! Questions? Please email bceptastaffappreciation@gmail.com!
BCE Read-A-Thon
Brushy Creek Elementary has decided to hold a read-a-thon this year! This is NOT a PTA sponsored event. All the money earned from our read-a-thon will go directly to our campus budget.
Read-a-thons actually get your reader excited about reading and it gives friends and family the opportunity to encourage your child to read even more.
Our Read-a-thon starts Monday February 5, 2024.
About one week before our Read-a-thon starts we will send home instructions on how to activate your reader's personal page. This is where you will be able to view and record their progress.
We encourage you to activate your reader’s account today by clicking on https://www.read-a-thon.com/readers/r/jbwVLz/1 and following the simple instructions.
We've chosen Read-a-thon because it will not take much of your time, gives your child a reason to read and helps in the development of stronger reading skills.
We hope EVERYONE participates.
Thanks so much,
Brushy Creek Elementary
Attendance Matters
Here are our numbers for the 2nd Nine weeks of school. We appreciate everyone's efforts in ensuring their students are in attendance and on time. Please make sure you bring in doctor's notes if your child is out. We really want them here and understand they can't be if they are sick. It takes a team to help keep our attendance rates up high. So, let's focus on raising those attendance rates in PreK-2nd grades!
Are You Ready to Volunteer?
A new semester brings new volunteer links! There are several volunteer opportunities available -- Teacher Workroom (weekly, click link and sign up to cut and laminate items for the staff!) and Cafeteria Volunteers (daily during K/1st lunches). Interested in something else? Click here to complete the Brushy Creek PTA Volunteer Interest Form and let us know how you would like to serve the Blue Jay community!
Schlitterbahn Waves of Pages
This program is for students in grades K-5. If a student reads AND LOGS 10 or more hours then they may receive a ticket to the Schlitterbahn water park in New Braunfels.
The READING LOG DUE DATE is February 5, 2024.
This is a hard DUE DATE as I have to turn in the logs to the Schlitterbahn Director.
This is an optional program provided by the BCE Library. We are very lucky to be a part of this program - as they take only a select number of schools for registration each year.
Teacher Workroom Supplies
Hello! We are in need of some supplies to fill up our Teacher Workroom. The workroom is used by all of our teachers to give our students the best possible learning environment. Anything will help! Please review the available slots below and click on the button to sign up. You can send the items to school with your student labeled "teacher workroom" or you may drop them off to the office. Thank you!
