A message from Principal Boucher
Dear SLPHS families,
The 2021-22 school year is fast approaching. We will welcome 9th graders and any 10th-12th graders new to Spring Lake Park High School for a first day of orientation on Tuesday, September 7. Returning 10th-12th graders will begin their school year on Wednesday, September 8. We are looking forward to being back in-person and focused on creating a safe and engaging year of learning and growth.
I want to provide some important information for families in this letter as you get ready for the start of the school year. First, the public health situation surrounding COVID-19 continues to change daily. We will update you if health and safety plans and practices change. In the meantime, you can find the latest updates on the COVID-19 hub.
We look forward to partnering with you this year as we support each student journey toward post-secondary opportunities and success. I will provide more information about the first week of school in upcoming communications. Watch for school communications each Wednesday. In the meantime, I hope you and your student have time to get fully recharged for the 2021-22 school year. See you soon.
Matthew Boucher

Meeting teachers and visiting the building
9th grade: Tour, iPad Exchange and meet your teacher events — Our incoming 9th graders were unable to tour the building last spring. As a result, we are providing additional opportunities for students in the 9th grade to tour the building, exchange their iPads, and meet staff in August. We will be sending signup information to both of these opportunities directly to families of 9th graders the week of August 23.
- Tour and iPad Exchange – Wednesday, August 25, Thursday, August 26, and Friday, August 27: Students/families will be able to sign up for a slot to come and get a tour from a Panther mentor and exchange your iPad.
- Meet your teachers – Tuesday, August 31, 3-6 p.m.: students and families can sign up for a time to come into the building to meet with a teacher, see their classrooms, review their schedule, take their school photo, turn in required forms and learn about getting involved.
- Picture Day for grade 9 - Tuesday, August 31, 3-6 p.m.: We would like all students to get their picture taken. Student I.D.'s will be printed from this photo. Picture packets for ordering will be available. (Students in grades 10-12 will have their picture day during the 2nd week of school, exact date TBD).
- Students in grades 10-12 can review their schedule, turn in health, transportation, lunch forms, connect with teachers, and learn about getting involved in activities and athletics at this event.
- Seniors will be invited to sign up to attend Senior Class meetings to review important information and dates for Seniors and their families. Signup information will be sent to 12th grade families via email the week of August 23.
