The Week Ahead
I hope everyone has been able to dig out from the snow this weekend (and thaw out from the cold). Barring any setbacks, we will be sending report cards home this week. We will probably depend on religion and Via teachers to get them handed out.
Special thanks to Lynne and Shelly for organizing counseling and prayer activities during an especially tough time.
We have a speaker tomorrow morning. She will be presenting "What is Ministry?" It starts promptly at 8:00 in the multipurpose room. Breakfast will be provided in the MPR.
We start back to block scheduling and intercessions this week.
Students and teachers have their Kairos retreat this weekend. Please keep them in your prayers.
Services for Neil are Friday night and Saturday. Visitation is from 4:00-7:00 at Lensing Funeral & Cremation (605 Kirkwood Avenue, Iowa City). The funeral service is Saturday at 1:00 at Trinity Episcopal Church (320 E. College Street, Iowa City).
Have a wonderful week!

Morning Prayer This Week
Jan 22-Jan 25: Prayer to the Virgin Mary
O Mary, Mother of Jesus and Mother of us all, we turn to you today as the one who said "Yes" to Life. "You will conceive and bear a Son," the angel told you. Despite the surprise and the uncertainty about how this could be, you said yes. "Be it done unto me according to your word."
Mary, we pray today for all mothers who are afraid to be mothers. We pray for those who feel threatened and overwhelmed by their pregnancy. Intercede for them, that God may give them the grace to say yes and the courage to go on. May they have the grace to reject the false solution of abortion. May they say with you, "Be it done unto me according to your word." May they experience the help of Christian people, and know the peace that comes from doing God's will. Amen.
