Kripa Montessori Schools
September-2023 Newsletter
Welcome back to the school and new school year!
Dear Kripa Community,
As we embrace the new school year, I extend a warm welcome to our students, parents, and staff. It is with great enthusiasm that I address you in this September edition of our school newsletter. We are excited to embark on a journey of learning, growth, and discovery. Our commitment to providing a safe and nurturing environment for all students remains unwavering.
Summer went by fast! Kids got a chance to go on swimming pool trips on a weekly basis, went through art and music workshops, explored pet shops, met local Police, Canine staff, enrolled in summer reading programs, and saw magic!
Over the summer, our school also underwent various renovations and upgrades to enhance the learning environment. Our buildings got new flooring, painting, area rugs and Montessori material updates. Investments into classrooms and facilities will continue this upcoming year as well.
We are delighted to welcome several new staff members to our school family. They bring a wealth of experience and enthusiasm to our community.
“It is necessary to give children the possibility of developing according to the laws of their nature, so that they can become strong, and having become strong, can do even more than we dared hope for them.” - Maria Montessori
Highlights for the new year
As the new year starts, Kripa will continue to focus on Character Education Programs. We, at Kripa, believe that providing a nurturing environment with an emphasis on universal human values is the greatest gift we can give our kids. This immersion program that brings forth the positive values that are inherent in young people. The focus is on universal human values such as Love, Truth, Peace, Non-Violence & Right Conduct. Through a variety of activities, kids will experience and recognize these values and learn to make good choices for themselves.
Music Programs - We are introducing weekly music program across classes. Conducted by Stefany and Ingrid of Little Notes Music Education, this program will use music as a natural way to learn while being silly and building connections to one another. This sequential approach to music education provides the best foundation for students to continue in their development of musical skills.
Read out Loud programs –Reading programs are instrumental in nurturing a lifelong love of reading and introduce young children to the joy of reading, In collaboration with local libraries, Kripa Montessori will introduce reading programs across all classes. “New Rhyme of the Month Club from Schaumburg Library” is setup both Hoffman Estates & Schaumburg locations. Similar program in Bartlett is being setup for pre-school children.
Field Trips – Field trips are back! Field Trips hold immense significance in education as they provide students with invaluable real-world experiences that complement classroom learning.
A visit to South Elgin Railway Museum is planned in September. More details will follow.
STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math) workshops – STEAM workshops are designed to inspire! Conducted by local non-profit group Steamdream, these workshops would be held once in a semester to introduce the world of problem-solving, innovation, and joy of learning.
Drop-Off and Pick-Up
Maintaining a structured and uninterrupted class environment is essential to uphold the core principles of Montessori education at our schools. This environment allows both our dedicated teachers and eager students to thrive in their daily routines from 9 am to 3 pm. To support this, we kindly request all parents to ensure that their children are dropped off at school before 9 am.
In our commitment to reducing disruptions, we have made the decision to discontinue the Half Day programs at Kripa Montessori Bartlett and Schaumburg locations. This adjustment will help create a more focused and conducive learning atmosphere, aligning with our Montessori philosophy.
We deeply appreciate your understanding and cooperation in maintaining this enriching educational environment for all our students.
Upcoming Events
Parent Night – Parents will get a chance to meet with teachers, learn about class room schedule, explore Montessori materials and meet other parents. Join us for Parent Night in early September. It's an excellent opportunity to meet your child's teachers, explore our facilities, learn more classroom schedule, explore Montessori materials, and get ready for the exciting year ahead.
Parent Connection
We are excited to announce the launch of our Parent Engagement Opportunities program this year. We extend a warm invitation to all families to actively participate in creating a safe, joyful, and enriching environment for your child's educational journey. As partners in your child's education, we encourage parents to engage in various class activities, including helping during lunch hour, field trips, event support, or even the role of a teacher's assistant.
To make this possible, each teacher will publish a list of these opportunities and seek confirmations on a first-come-first-serve basis. Your involvement strengthens the bond between home and school. We look forward to your active participation in fostering a vibrant and nurturing learning community at our school.
