ADL Charger News

From the Principal's Desk
Dear Parents and Guardians,
As we turn the page on the first trimester at ADL, I want to take a moment to express my deep gratitude to all of you for your support in keeping our community safe and healthy at school this fall. Keeping our schools open this past trimester has been made possible due to our students following our guidelines at school and your efforts at home. Your support in reinforcing the importance of wearing masks, maintaining proper hand hygiene and social distancing, and keeping your children home when they are ill has been critical to our ability to maintain a safe environment at ADL during this pandemic.
As COVID cases continue to rise in our region, I know families may be anxious about a potential return to fully remote learning. While we must be prepared for that possibility, please be assured there are no predetermined plans to do so at this time. As always, please reach out to me with any questions or concerns.
Sincerely,
Jennifer Wood
Student Learning Updates & Progress Reports
Our Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) at ADL is focused on high-quality, evidence-based first instruction, intervention, and assessment to support all students in achieving at high levels. Interdisciplinary teams meet regularly to review meaningful data and identify specific student needs. Educational Support Team (EST) plans are one component of the MTSS framework, and may be developed for students who are identified as needing additional supports to make learning gains. Our teams spent time last month reviewing these plans, determining if student's goals had been met and updating the plans as necessary. If your child has an updated plan, you will receive a copy of the plan by email.
Next Friday, December 11, we will be sending student progress reports to all families through JumpRope, our standards-based grading and reporting system. If you have any questions about your child’s learning progress, please contact your child’s teachers. If you need assistance accessing JumpRope, please contact our registrar Victoria Cooper at 857-7842.
