UBMS Lunch Visits
Fondy High - September 14th
Horace Mann - September 15th
These visits are meant to check in with our students, hear any concerns or questions, and meet your friends - so bring them over!
Lunch visits will continue to be on the second Monday and Tuesday of each month. Starting October 12th, UBMS staff will come to lunch visits with stipend checks for students who turned in a timely reflection paper. Who knows what other goodies we might have?!?!? See ya then!
NOTE: September Reflection Papers will be due on Monday, October 5th. We will be anxious to hear all about the start of your new school year. What are you most excited about? What concerns do you have? What challenging or rigorous courses are you taking? What new clubs are you participating in? It's not too early to start thinking about your paper!
Ghosts of Galloway Haunted Village - Help Needed!
Every year the Galloway House transforms their village into a spooky, haunted village tour. This years Haunted Village is scheduled for Friday, October 9th to Saturday, October 31st.
A lot of work goes into getting the village ready beforehand and help is needed to design and paint the sets of their Haunted Village. Please let Tracy know if you are interested in this.
BUT here is the REALLY cool part... UBMS has been asked to organize and support the "scaled-down" version for younger children, which is on Saturday, October 24th, from 11 am - 2 pm. During this time, UBMS volunteers (students and families) are also needed to:
1) Take money at check-in
2) Work the candy counter
3) Hand out goody bags
4) Arts and Crafts
5) Be in the mini haunted house
6) A "floater" (help where needed)
Please let Tracy know if you are interested in planning or participating in the children's day activities. We will start meeting in mid to late September.
This is not a required UBMS event, but involvement will demonstrate excellent community support and leadership. And it will be FUN!
For more details, check out their Facebook Page: Ghosts of Galloway Haunted Village
Tutoring Starts October 1st
On October 1st and October 8th, tutoring will be in the Stayer Center Room 205 from 3-6 p.m.
Students that are required to attend tutoring, must attend one hour of tutoring a week, but welcome to stay longer. Missed sessions must be made up or will be counted as an unexcused absence, resulting in a stipend deduction.
