Please provide feedback about the Elementary Learning meeting using this link: https://padlet.com/bgrange1/tv1tq9jaqzr8
I met with all Assistant to the Principals on Tuesday morning. We discussed issues like staff handbooks, staff meeting content, getting ready for parent/teacher conferences etc.
I love this visual on homework do’s and don’ts. Please share with your teachers.
I’ll be visiting Field, Sequiota, and Wilder next week.
Stipends for Lead Teacher
Lead Teachers are eligible to be paid a stipend of $725.24, (only one Lead Teacher per site). Here is the form for the Elementary Lead Teacher Stipend. HR included instructions on the form itself to provide guidance on filling it out properly. Any form submitted now will be put on the November payroll since we are beyond the October payroll cut-off. Questions can be directed at Linda Collins in HR.

A 2013 work climate research study revealed that more than 80 percent of employees say they’re motivated to work harder when their boss shows appreciation for their work, compared to less than 40 percent who are inspired to work harder when their boss is demanding or because they fear losing their job. I thought about this related to a conversation I had this week about "professional fatigue." It appears we are seeing some exhaustion that typically appears in the spring. I'm sure this is oversimplified, but consider countering this feeling by giving this appreciation concept a run as we begin the second quarter. Acknowledge your staff daily through intentional conversations. Show them you need them, and that others need them too. While not intuitive, challenge them - it recognizes the value and capacity they bring as individuals.
This week I have the opportunity to attend a workshop and learn with Will Richardson, and will be absent Wednesday and Thursday, but available by text, phone and email. I will be sending out specific questions for you to begin reflecting upon for the next round of visits. Please let Bret & me know how we can support your learning and leading.
