Egg Harbor Township High School
Week of December 12, 2021
A MESSAGE FROM OUR PRINCIPAL
Greetings,
Another exciting week for Egg Harbor Township High School! Physical Education teachers, Mr Smith, Mr. Platt, Mr. Belinsky and Mr. Tridente, took 30 students on a field trip to King Pin Bowling Alley. This was an extension of their Physical Education lessons. The students had an awesome experience and a great PE activity for the day!
On December 14, Ms Hannigan, our Social Studies Supervisor, headed her curriculum committee meeting and included students to help teachers look over and begin revisions of the curriculum to align with the NJDOE.
On December 15, Ms. McGowan had former students from her English Language classes come back to EHTHS and share with the ELL students what life after graduation is all about, things they can expect. They shared the importance of doing well and learning English. It was great to hear from their perspective. Our current students really enjoyed hearing them and took great lessons away.
There was much to be proud of in the arts this week! Starting with Egg Harbor Township High School students auditioning for the “All South Jersey Band.” Their names are listed below! Congratulations and best of luck! Next, we had several students audition for the “All South Jersey Choir". It’s so exciting for them. Finally, on Thursday evening, December 16, Mr.Tinsley showed off his choral students along with the concert choir as they entertained the audience with festive holiday music. Of course, he had Mr. Milnes on the piano. What a great night that was!
Did you see the Atlantic City Press on December 16? If not, you don’t want to miss it! Look it up! Our boys Basketball team is highlighted as being projected to be the Cape Atlantic League and South Jersey Group IV contenders! They have us ranked number 3!! Lots of pressure on our boys but I’m sure Mr. Bell will put it all in perspective! Let’s go eagles! #EHTPRIDE
We are moving quickly through December. Don’t forget that next Thursday, December 23 is a half day and buildings and offices will be closed for the winter break. Buildings will reopen on January 3, 2022.
Until next week, have a wonderful weekend! Stay safe, be well, continue to dream of the possibilities ahead of us, be happy and smile at someone!
Ms. Connor

2021 EHTHS Adapted P.E. Bowling Field Trip
We’re back! On Wednesday December 15th, 30 students from Mr. Platt, Mr. Smith, Mr. Belinsky, and Mr. Tridente’s Adapted Physical Education Classes attended a field trip to King Pin Lanes. We were so excited to be back after not being able to go last year. The field trip featured bowling, food, games, and fun. The students demonstrated skills learned in Adapted Physical Education class. Tremendous demonstrations of teamwork and sportsmanship were shown throughout the entire day. Big thanks go out to the over 20 paraprofessionals and teachers Mrs. Ormond and Ms. Williams, who made everything work smoothly. Their tireless efforts, guidance, and support of the students make these special experiences possible. Thank you to King Pin Lanes, Donna Freund, The Youth Study Team, Karen Semet, Nurses, Eagles Nest School Store, and our administration for supporting this annual trip. Students were presented with medals that read “WINNER

Student Assistance Program and Resources
The High School has adopted a new bullying-prevention program for this school year!
#DAY1--a staff and student-led philosophy that will serve to foster a building-wide atmosphere of kindness and inclusion.
This program was started a few years ago in Bergen County by the Tyler Clementi Foundation and has gained momentum throughout the state and country for use in schools, community groups, workplaces, and sports teams. We even have 3 of our own students who were selected by the foundation as leaders for this initiative!
The premise is simple: the adults in the building make a “declaration statement” about behavior that is expected, as well as behavior that is unacceptable, and we all pledge to conduct ourselves accordingly. This includes seeking help when we witness unacceptable behavior occurring.
This notion is called being an #Upstander.
Has your student taken their #Upstander Pledge yet?!?
Have them sign into their school account and click here! 😊
