Westwood Visit-TOMORROW
We have a wonderful Outreach opportunity coming up Tuesday (4/11), and we need LOTS of help! 5th graders from Westwood Elementary are coming for a visit, and we are leading a bunch of fun events throughout the day for them! Plus, you can sign up for whatever fits your schedule. For each session, meet in the RCOE lobby and look out for an email with more specific locations.
9-10:15 Icebreakers and tours of campus
10:15-11:45 The students will be participating in science demos. The students will be split into two groups in two rooms. One will be a large group demo with Jeff Goodman and the other will be science exploration stations. They will spend half of the time in each room!

12:45-1:30 Games and talking about why it's important to go to college
Please sign up using this Google form:
Again, we need your help - invite your friends too! It will be super fun, and you get service hours! Thanks, and let us know if you have questions.
Remember Committee Chair Applications are due Wednesday, April 19th!
Social Justice Summit
We wanted to go ahead and send out the form where you can volunteer to hang out with the high school students at the Social Justice Summit. You can buy them dinner, tie-dye with them, dance with them, or even just bring some food in the event you can't make it!
We truly need all the help and support we can get.
Thank you so much and we hope you have a wonderful weekend!
With love,
Diversity Committee
Tiffanie Waugh, Jennifer Compton, Amlila Yun, and Tina Vazquez
Enjoy next Monday and Tuesday for an extra spring holiday!
A special opportunity
I work at a separate school for students with moderate to severe disabilities and we have a spring carnival coming up in April. We would love to have some education majors come help with face painting and maybe some other games. If anyone is wondering what the population of students would be like they can check out my school album on my Facebook. Do you think anyone would be interested?
It's April 28th, and I believe it will be from 5-8 but I'll double check on that. It will be at our school- North Liberty School and the address is 523 Ebola Rd, Morganton NC 28655. My email address is allisoncausby@burke.k12.nc.us. And of course this would be a great experience for any adapted special ed majors, but we would love for anyone who'd like to interact with our students to help:)
Thank you!
