Happy New Year Cheyenne Families!
We are looking forward to a great 2nd Semester!
All students return to school on Tuesday, January 4th! The doors will open at 7:10 am and school begins at 7:40 am.
The weather has begun to change in drastic ways. Please encourage your child to dress for the weather. We will always go outside unless it is below freezing or we have precipitation that prevents us from going out.
It is important to remember the basic pick-up and drop-off expectations. Please pull all the way up to the signs before stopping to drop off your student. Students should be ready to get out as quickly as possible onto the sidewalk. If you pull into the parking lot please remember to follow the traffic flow and direction of the parking spaces. Students being dropped off in the lot should always use the crosswalk and be sure that all vehicles see them crossing. Do not drop off or pick up in the bus loop or behind the building. All students should enter and exit the front of the building.
Please remind your children to charge their Chromebook and locate their student ID. Students should have their Chromebook charged each day and their student ID ready to wear at school each day.
All semester grades will be posted to Infinite Campus, Parent Portal, on the evening of January 14th. No paper copies of final grades will be sent home. Families are encouraged to log on to Parent Portal, Infinite Campus, to view final semester grades. ParentPortal

COVID Mask Updates
Please note - as policy currently exists - masks are recommended upon our return on January 4th but not mandatory. We'll keep you updated should any changes to this policy come our way.
Did you move over the break? or Did you move to Edmond over the break?
If your family is new and moved into our school boundaries during the break you will also need to contact our registrar so we can make sure we have all the proper paperwork to enroll your child. New enrollment and schedule creation take some time. Please call our office to make sure we are ready for your child to attend school.

Please Remind Your Child About Their Student IDs
EVERY student was issued a Student ID Badge at the beginning of the year or when they arrived to Cheyenne. Per the District Policy, this MUST be worn EVERY day with the district-issued lanyard and the picture must face out. 6th graders are maroon, 7th grade green, and 8th grade blue.
If your student does not have their badge they will need to print a temporary badge for the day as they enter the school. We have three kiosks.
It is VERY important that the student remember their badge each and every day. A temporary badge should only be needed on a rare occasion not for everyday use.
Please continue to remind your child to put their badge in the same spot every day so that they have it with them every day. AS they walk out the door or get into the car ask them these two thingsā¦ Do you have your ID? Is your Chromebook charged?
Student IDs help us know who should be present on our campus, they are also used to check-in and out of the office, to scan for lunch, and to checkout books in the library.
Cheyenne Showcase
Cheyenne Showcase is our recognition ceremony for Student of the Month and Mustangs of Character. These students are chosen by their teachers and they are recognized at lunch once a month. Students receive a certificate along with special treats at their lunchtime.

DROPPING OFF ITEMS
We ask that you check with your student before they walk out the door and make sure they are prepared for the day. This includes having their, Chromebook, ID and Lunch. If your student does forget their lunch or something they need for school, we have a cart in our front lobby with grade levels. This will be rolled back into the common area for the students to pick up their items during passing. Please drop off LUNCHES or SCHOOL SUPPLIES ONLY.
If you are dropping off an instrument or athletic equipment we will place this by the back office door for them to come up and get during their passing or after school. Please make arrangements with your student regarding these items and where to retrieve them.
