September 2019: Issue 1: Volume 2
Finally, some much needed cooler weather! I hope everyone had a great Summer.
As we settle back into a routine for the rest of the year and continue our busy schedules, please be mindful of the obligations we all have to our community.
As of last month, we have a few homes that have not satisfied their annual payments. We are turning these owners over to the attorneys to file judgment against the homeowners. The board does not do this lightly, but after several attempts, we have no choice.
We had a COPS meeting this past month; attendance was great with a packed clubhouse. Please get with your block captain for a recap of the meeting.
There has been a lot of discussion regarding speeding and electric vehicles in our neighborhood.Anyone 15 years or older with a learner's permit to operate and carry passengers. Seat belts were recommended, but they are not mandatory. If your child operates one of these vehicles, please encourage safety and courtesy prior to them driving on the road.
Speeding has been a concern in our community for years. Currently Gwinnett PD has placed officers, when available, to monitor traffic. The HOA does employ off duty offers, but they are for security and presence. Often, cars appear to be speeding, but are actually traveling at a recommended speed.
Speed bumps are not the answer! I have attached an article of what it would take and cost to have speed bumps added. The board will continue to look for way to curtail the occasional speeder.
We will be dissembling the playground this winter to have it refurbished and will need lots of hands to help! Please contact me or Lisa Inlow (email@example.com) if you would be willing to help.
Treasurer's Report - July 2018 YTD vs July 2019 YTD
Despite the sweltering weather this summer, there has still been plenty of action on the courts!! We have several teams out of the neighborhood, if you are interested in a team, or lessons, feel free to contact me and I will put you in contact with the appropriate people. The Connemara Tennis Community is fun, social and a great way to meet your neighbors, so dust off those racquets and come on out!
The Pickle ball lines on Court 3 should be done by the end of August. Look for an invitation to the neighborhood for a Pickle Ball Kickoff where we will be giving an overview of the game and rules. Pickle ball can be played by people of all ages and skill levels. Being a tennis player is not a requirement to play!!
The Middle Pavilion is going to get a "facelift" so as to make it better match the amazing parking lot pavilion.
Hopefully new wind screens will arrive soon!
Please remember tennis only on the courts, empty the courtside bins after play, and shut off the lights and fans when leaving. Captains, please make sure the court bins are emptied as well as the upper pavilion trash can before leaving the courts.
My goal is to make the tennis area not just a great place to play and gather but a visual asset to the neighborhood, enhancing all our property values. It is in everyone’s best interest to see the pool, playground, clubhouse, tennis courts and pavilions looking their best. Feel free to contact me with any concerns or suggestions. Hope to see you on the courts!

Without a lifeguard on duty, it is very important for everyone to keep watch on what is going on at the pool. Please speak up if you notice anything out of place or someone not following the Pool Rules.
The Pool will close on October 1st.
Thank you for another great season,
