Classroom Holiday Celebrations
Over the next two weeks, if you would like to have a celebration for your students, please complete the Google doc here - https://goo.gl/ySdzdE. If your celebration will take place during lunch, please make sure you let Mrs. Banks know, so she can plan appropriately when ordering and preparing food. Just a reminder about lunch...all students must be offered a lunch in the cafeteria, even if you opt to have food in the classroom.
The nurse will be sending a letter home to all classes with any student allergies explaining that any items that contain allergen will be sent home.
Reminder from the handbook:
When having celebrations and parties in the classroom, please communicate with the administration, office associates, and security, so everyone knows when to expect parents (if invited). (The Google Doc above will serve as your communication.)
Any celebration involving food must be store bought. It is up to the teacher to know any allergies in the classroom and check ingredients. For celebrations and parties, the nurse cannot be in charge of checking all food. This must be a joint effort with the teacher but certainly reach out to the nurse if there are any questions. The safe recommendation is that if one student has an allergy, there should be no food in the room with that ingredient. Keeping the student away may not prove to be enough.
What do our students have going on? Under the surface? Do you know?
Securing Substitutes
Building a Community
Competitive Teachers
Student Collaborate
Parent Contact
Coats, Hats, and Lice Oh My!
Just a reminder to please send students down to the nurse should they exhibit a lot of itching of their head so they can be checked.
