CITL Updates
September 2017
New CITL Intern Program
The CITL is piloting a new program this year! Our student staff will showcase their strengths and learn new skills assisting SLLC language programs with online visibility and publicity. Student intern work will be managed by Jeff Maurer.
In addition to publicity work, students will be available to work on short and long term instructional or research projects. Examples include: importing quizzes into Canvas, scanning and preparing digital assets, editing photos and videos, organizing media content, and assisting with presentations or tutorials. Please email or speak to Jeff or Janel about any project ideas!

UMD's New Syllabi Repository & Syllabus Guidance & Template from TLTC
UMD maintains a central repository of syllabi that simply stores a PDF that an instructor (or departmental support staff) uploads for each term of a course per instructor. The repository allows students could make more informed choices about course selection while reducing the need for departments and/or colleges to create their own solutions.
Syllabi remain your intellectual property and are only accessible to campus members via Directory ID log in. You can also email your syllabi directly to brennanj@umd.edu for inclusion in the repository.
To learn more about the repository and to upload your files, visit tltc.umd.edu/syllabi-repository.
Canvas Teacher App - manage your class from your phone!
The Canvas Teacher App has been fully revamped and made even more mobile friendly. With this app on your phone, you have the ability to post announcements, update course content such as due dates, spelling errors, publish assignments, manage discussion settings, and adjust quiz options. 42min webinar on the Canvas Teacher App
Why should you love Kaltura?
Kaltura is the new campus wide video management service. It can replace your reliance on external software for video streaming, screencasts & video storage. Faculty now have access to a "My Media" tab in Canvas to archive all of their media files and can share them with their classes. For more information, see this link
