It's a Co-Work space!

The Drop In is the Town's newest venture on its' journey towards the revitalization of the 1st. Street corridor. It is a Co-Work that will be available for rent to the public. This will offer residents a place to meet, work, or host in a space that is professional, affordable and convenient; it's just down the street!

With Help... It Takes a Village

Since the July Town Council meeting, Cheryl & Co, owner of the building and company who will be managing rentals, has completed renovations to the space and has opened their real estate office at this new location. The Drop In will sub-lease approximately 600 sq. ft. within the facility to use as a public gathering and Co-Working space that will be available for rent to members of the public.

Town Council Priority: Beautify & Revitalize Corridors

“The Town Council acknowledges and embraces that the Town of Parachute has two primary business corridors: 1st Street and Cardinal Way. Each of these areas are equally important to the community, and they will be essential to the Town’s future and economic growth. The Town wishes to invest in these corridors, and the Town’s business district, to foster public-private investment partnerships, and stimulate economic, cultural, and social growth in the heart of Parachute.”

Slowly... But Clearly

Creating additional community gathering spaces was a clear theme throughout the 2022 Comprehensive Planning Process. The addition of a co-working space in downtown Parachute would create a space for individuals to convene and hold small meetings or events. In addition, the creation of a co-working would bring additional vitality to 1st Street, through a Public Private Partnership. This is directly in line with the Town Council’s goal of revitalization.

On November 17th, the Parachute Town Council unanimously adopted the 2023 Town budget, which will guide the Town’s spending across all departments from January 1st 2023 through the end of the year. The budget also sets the Town’s rates and fees for the coming year, including utility rates. On average, the typical residential customer should anticipate a 4.3% ($4.28) increase to their monthly utility bill - beginning June 1, 2023. The revenue will be used to help defray the increased costs that the Town is experiencing in the water and wastewater utility departments, and it will help the Town continue to provide safe and reliable services. El 17 de noviembre, el Concejo Municipal de Parachute adoptó por unanimidad el Presupuesto Municipal de 2023, que guiará los gastos municipales en todos los departamentos desde el 1ro. de Enero de 2023 hasta fin de año.
