What are the benefits of joining the ITEC Google Certified Coach Cohort?

Selected participants (see application below) would have the following benefits:

Cohort cost: $199.*


*Participants wanting to earn two license renewal credits will have an opportunity to indicate interest if selected. This would be an additional fee of $70.

What is required of the ITEC Google Certified Coach Cohort?

Participants will be required to work through the Google Certified Coaching Curriculum, which will prepare participants for completion of the Coaching Skills Assessment and the creation of a coaching portfolio (which is part of the official certification application).


In order to support participants in this work, each month will follow a similar pattern:


  • Week 1-- Introduction to curriculum content via Google Classroom
  • Week 2-- Mentoring with cohort facilitator
  • Week 3-- Reflection via Google Classroom
  • Week 4-- Synchronous Online Meeting with Cohort participants and facilitators*


NOTE: Before submitting applications for certification, participants will also need to obtain Google Education Level 1 and Level 2 certification. Obtaining these certifications will be outside the work of this cohort. Official submission of the Coaching Certification application will not be part of the cohort work.


*📅 If selected, participants will be expected to attend the monthly synchronous meetings. These meetings are held on Sunday evenings from approximately 8 to 9 p.m. Dates for the monthly meetings will be as follows:


  • Sept. 19, 2021 (Kickoff event)
  • Oct. 10, 2021
  • Nov. 14, 2021
  • Dec. 12, 2021
  • Jan. 9, 2022
  • Feb. 13, 2022
  • March 13, 2022
  • April 10, 2022

Iowa Technology & Education Connection
ITEC stands for the Iowa Technology & Education Connection. ITEC promotes the use of technology in education by demonstrating to its members, other educators and the public, developments in educational technology and how its appropriate use supports teaching and learning.


ITEC serves its members by:


  • Conducting an annual educational technology conference in October
  • Providing a network of educators available to share their expertise
  • Making contact with legislative groups, department of education, use groups and professional organizations
  • Displaying information about the organization at statewide conferences
  • Making available to members a bi-monthly (6 times a year) newsletter
