CJH Weekly Update
Staff - Week of Mar. 25th
We Can Do This!!
Everything you need to know for this week!
This staff meeting will be our required testing training. We will try to make this as painless as possible, but we must review protocols and our schedule.
Tardies
Just a reminder that if a student is issued a pass from the office that states excused, please honor it as excused. I know that there are times that you see them in the hallway and feel that they should be in class on time. What you might not be aware of is that they had to step into the office to call home, their locker was jammed, a case worker was here to meet with them, or they were having another type of emergency or issue. The office will deal with repeat offenders as necessary, but a pass is excused unless marked otherwise.
Thursday
We will be partnering with Food Service to celebrate the Opening Day of MLB. Everyone can wear their favorite baseball team attire and the cafeteria will be holding their own competition by serving Detroit Dogs and Chicago Dogs. Which one will sell more??? Remember you can wear jeans if you participate in the dress up days!
Friday
We will celebrate the end of March is Reading month with a Read In during 2nd hour. Students can wear their pajamas and bring a book to 2nd hour and we will spend that class period (37 minutes) reading silently and eating breakfast. Shelley will even be providing a special breakfast that day! If you would like to allow students to also bring a snack, that is up to the individual classroom teachers. Please adjust your plans so that all classes during 2nd hour will be reading. I will even be walking the halls reading. Promote this and make this fun!
Friday is also our 1/2 Day, we will follow the 1/2 Day schedule. Lunches will be provided in the hallways during 6th hour. You may allow students to grab a lunch if they would like to eat during 6th hour or to take with them that day.
End of Marking Period
Just a reminder to plan accordingly this week, grades will be due on Tuesday when we return.
