What Are We Learning This Week??

For the next few weeks we will be discussing insects and spring animals. We have a few caterpillar/chrysalis in our room now and we will be observing them until they become butterflies and will be released. This week we will read and retell the story of The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle and discuss the life cycle of a butterfly. We will also review characteristics of living vs. non-living things (ie. it can move by itself, grow/change, breathe, needs food/water).

We are reviewing the number 12 and all of the letters.

Speech-Language Group- April 20-24, 2015

This week, we will follow directions identifying the letters/sounds S, M, T, L, O and then balance on one foot. We will identify and label the function/use of objects and give the direction "Get the one you use to ____” to a peer. We will review the nursery rhyme “Hey Diddle, Diddle”.

Hey, Diddle, Diddle

Hey, diddle, diddle,

The cat and the fiddle.

The cow jumped over the moon!

The little dog laughed to see such sport,

And the dish ran away with the spoon.

AdvancED Accreditation: Hello Parents! It is with great excitement that I share our wonderful school district received international accreditation through AdvancED! Our early childhood team participated in the two-year process, and identified many powerful practices in early childhood. PLSD received some of the highest scores INTERNATIONALLY, which is so exciting! In recognition of our wonderful staff and their hard work, our early childhood team gets to wear jeans to work this Wednesday. Please take a moment to tell your child’s teacher “Thank You” for their hard work educating our youngest learners. Celebrate!

Tuition: Just a reminder our final tuition payment will occur on May 15th. The last payment is half of your regular tuition amount, so please note there will only be a partial payment. As always, please call me if you have questions! Kristy Feden 402-514-3242. Thanks!

As we are approaching the change of season, if you are looking for a place to donate your outgrown clothes we can always use extra pants and shirts.
